“Don’t Raise Our Rents” is the latest campaign from the Scouts with the aim being to spread awareness and encourage the public to participate with various actions.
There were a lot of guidelines that had to be adhered to regarding the colour scheme and layout and it was a fun challenge to stay within these boundaries.
The site includes a bespoke plugin developed specifically for this campaign which allows users to sign a petition and their data be saved in a custom database with new admin panels in the dashboard to administer the submissions.
Fish Can’t Whistle has been developing a custom Mailchimp plugin for a while now and the Scouts were the first to use it. It is working perfectly and allowing the site to gain subscribers at a phenomenal rate! The site owners can then completely administer their mailchimp account including designing and sending bespoke HTML emails.

Some changes have been made to the design since handing the site over to the client. The misaligned Facebook Like buttons, the increased whitespace under the video, the lack of images on the posts section on the home page, the disabling of the interactive map and the increased space underneath the petition was all implemented by the client and is unfortunately outside of our control. This does however demonstrate how customisable the websites that we produce are!
