King Chain Productions
King Chain Productions got in touch with FCW with an already completed design for their website. Our brief was to make that design a reality by coding it in to a WordPress theme.
The main emphasis of this site is the videos that the company produces and as such required some interesting WordPress loop manipulation as well as some custom backend meta panels.
Each “post” required some bespoke display and data options. For a start functionality needed to be added to the dashboard to allow the company to add videos. It was decided that the most efficient way of doing this was with already hosted videos. So Youtube and Vimeo to begin with. As part of the functions of the theme I built the functionality to allow this custom data to be entered.
An interesting bit of functionality here is that if the client selects “yes” for a “more page” the normal wysiwyg will appear. By default the theme hides it as it is only needed when a further click through (single post) page is required.
Another great feature of this site is the Trailers page. The company knew exactly “how” they wanted it to work and we had to make that happen.
In short each trailer had to have a static image displayed in a grid. When hovered over, info on the trailer had to appear and when clicked on the whole video had to appear in full. It’s easier to check it out yourself! Click here to see some funky javascript in action!
All in all a great site and a great client to work for. We will be keeping a keen eye on the site as it fills with content! Do the same!
